We need at least 800 euro per year —about 4,000 lei—to continue receiving legal support at The Common Front for Housing Rights. This is the amount for a minimum monthly salary, which is quite low, with almost half going to taxes, and the lawyer does this work partly as a solidarity contribution to FCDL.

Why it’s so important to have a lawyer with FCDL:
– To petition when public authorities abuse or violate their housing responsibilities;
– to request information from public authorities, so that we can keep up to date with the measures taken and the housing situation at local or national level;
– to formulate points of view on council resolutions on housing, to the 6 districts of Bucharest and to the City Hall, but also to the ministries responsible for housing;
– provide counseling to people at risk of eviction or who are renting and have problems with landlords;
– coordinate workshops for tenants’ rights and against evictions.
Any regular donation is very important, because the FCDL is an action group without big funding, without sponsors, which sustains itself through solidarity support.
